EL34 / KT77 / 6CA7 Pwr Pentode
The EL34 is an 8-pin "octal" power pentode tube found in the power amp section of many guitar amps, mostly in sets of two or four matched valves. It has a 6.3v heater filament, and can dissipate 25W. Other similar, but not identical power pentode tubes are the KT77 and 6CA7. These can be substituted with appropriate bias adjustment. The EL34 is synonymous with the "British Tone" style of amplifier.
