12AX7 / CV4004 - Mullard

The Mullard brand is now owned by the American New Sensor Corporation and manufactured at the Xpo-Pul - Reflektor factory in Saratov, Russia. The Mullard 12AX7 / CV4004 is a high quality, low noise dual triode preamp tube ideally suited for use in combo amps, where the short plate construction reduces microphonics and noise caused by vibration. This tube is also an excellent choice for the Marshall high gain preamp circuits where noise and vibration can be a problem.  Offering high gain, (100mu) it also performs well when pushed into overdrive. A warm all-rounder tube for all types of music and playing styles, and consider a best choice for guitar amps.
