The 5751 dual triode preamp tube is a drop-in replacement for any 12AX7 and can be used in most pramps to achieve more headroom. It has approximately 30% lower gain than the standard 12AX7, and can be used to tame a high gain amplifier.
The 5751 dual triode preamp tube was designed as a robust high mu tube with similar specifications to the 12AX7. However, with a reduced gain of 70u, the 5751 is a fantastic way to tame a distortion stage.
The JJ 5751 features a "short plate" design. The tubes have great compression and harmonic complexity, perfectly suited for creating articulate midrange and warmer high end response.
